Maverick’s is a terrifying place. The water is dark, sharky, and uninviting. The waves are big, shifty, and only for the finely tuned expert. One minute they can be perfect for paddling in, the next windy and bumpy, the only board that can be used is of the tow variety. This POV video from Kai Lenny is a perfect example of all of those things. Kai gets caught inside. He catches bombs. He tows in and shows off how dialed he is on 360 airs (then he gets absolutely worked trying one at the 6:10 mark). The reality of Maverick’s is this: it’s unequivocally one of the toughest places to surf in the world. Kai Lenny shows us that.

Kai Lenny gets worked at Maverick's, too. It's not an easy place to surf.
