In the days before Cyclone Alfred ran into solid ground, it produced some of the most amazing waves Australia had seen in a long, long time. Kirra was insane, and surfers from Jack Robinson and Joel Parkinson to the everyday crowd, scored some of the best waves of their lives. Bryce Young and Laurie Towner didn’t miss out, either.
“Seizing the moment,” the Need Essentials team wrote, “Bryce Young and Laurie Towner headed north and scored some unforgettable waves.”
Young, as he is wont to do, was on a unique asymmetrical while Towner pulled out his trusty shortboard, and as you can see from these photos shot by Georde Grigor, they squeezed as much juice out of a juicy swell as they could.
