Another one of Clay that hurt to see out of focus. I have a feeling I'm going to have this happen again, but I will do everything possible to make sure that it doesn't. Photo: Ben Currie
I’ve shot surf for some time now, but it’s only been three weeks since I actually got in the water with a camera. There are so many lessons to pick up and only a little time to do it before a potential shot makes itself available and you either take it or leave it.
My friend and professional surfer Clay Pollioni, who I shoot exclusively, says I’m getting better every day and that he’s blown away by what I’m getting. It definitely helps to have a strong run of swell – every day this month, which is incredibly rare for a summer in New Jersey.
It’s been quite a learning curve and this collection showcases some of the moments I’ve nailed as well as some that I could’ve nailed better.
