Mikey Wright is more than just the best (and only) pro surfer out there with a mullet. He’s also the youngest sibling of competitive powerhouses Owen and Tyler Wright. But while his elder kin excel in singlets, Mikey is a man of the people, a free-surfer with the reckless abandon of a heavy metal headbanger. His surfing is explosive and carefree. Take for example the series of full-rotators into the flats from the above clip, starting at the 3:45 minute mark. Add in the hard-hitting guitar riff of Black Sabbath’s “Sweet Leaf” and you’ve got yourself a serious pump-up clip. Groms everywhere are going to be emulating this kid. His surfing at least…still not sure about that dodgy haircut.
