There were two rushes at the Mavericks Invitational on Friday–one in the morning and the other in the afternoon, during the semis and finals. Both saw channels choked with boats and the ocean’s thunderous rumbles kept them all perpetually rocking like a metronome needle.
I was in the channel during the afternoon rush and saw the semifinals and finals of the 2014 Mavericks Invitational from up close. It’s an incredible sight witnessing the combination of such beauty and raw power mere feet from where you stand.
