Hurricane Gonzalo was a really strange swell. I spent a lot of time driving and searching at different spots, and everywhere was big but all closeouts. I swam this spot with only one fin after mine got blown off. Got caught inside for the biggest wave I saw the whole day... I barely made it. The photos were worth the beatings. Photo: Hunter Denicola

2014 was a good year on the East Coast. Hurricane Gonzalo brought in some of the best waves we’ve seen in a long time, and countless other storms brought in days and days of amazing waves… and these are the 10 best photos I got all year. Here’s hoping for an even better 2015!
