The best time to surf and/or shoot here in New Jersey has always been in the winter because of the consistency of surf. This shot is from January 4, 2014: the coldest day of the season. Photo: Ben Currie
Searched for perfect waves to shoot all day all over New Jersey this day. I did score some decent shots but there was nothing comparable to this shot that I took here at home as I walked up my street to give it one more glance before walking in my door. Photo: Ben Currie

Almost all of my shots are from my home here in New Jersey. We have offshore winds more often than not and they really make for great lineup shots. I always try to capture the moments that make us want to grab our boards and run to the beach. I really love the ocean and its surrounding beauty more than anything. That’s what I’ve set out to capture.
