Before you hit play on the video above, be warned that there is no surfing from Nathan Florence in it. There’s a whole lot of paddling, though — thirteen minutes and thirty seconds worth, to be exact — but nary a wave is caught. It’s a good example of how the ocean is in charge, even when you’re as good as Nathan Florence is. He’s dealt with his fair share of difficult paddle outs, but when the tide is high and the waves are big at Uluwatu… well, sometimes it’s going to be a little more difficult. We’re assuming that Nate did eventually make his way out the back, but this paddle out probably left his arms a little noodley.
