This is probably the most interesting shot with a story behind it as far as my history of shooting goes. This image was actually the last image on my card that I was using. Andy had made a huge drop out the back and as he rode the wave through the midsection while Kelly was paddling back out watching him navigate the mid-section at Waimea Bay. With all the extraordinary happenings in surfing this fall (despite a lengthy flat spell in Southern California), a huge amount of beautiful imagery came our way. With November out like a lion, we’re into the hottest month of the year, surf-wise, with the Triple Crown in full swing, big swells around the North Shore and the World Tour race coming down the stretch seeing Kelly Slater and Mick Fanning near neck and neck. With that, enjoy the best of a jam-packed month in surf photography.
