This wasn’t your average day at the Wedge, nor was it a typical swell. She seemed angrier than normal. On a day that wasn’t nearly as big as last month’s 4th of July swell, the Wedge still packed quite a punch earlier this week. It’s not exactly a wave that produces a ton of open barrels and clean exits to begin with but this particular day was practically unrideable. Still, when it gets like this it’s very entertaining to watch from the safety of the sand with a camera pointed at the carnage, rooting for the occasional safe escape.
