Pipeline is usually a hibernating bear in the summer. Those who reside nearby usually use the time to surf in town, or swim and explore the iconic reef that creates one of the most iconic waves in the world. But recently, Pipeline lit up, relatively speaking for summer, as a random swell blessed the North Shore with waves. Jamie O’Brien was there, of course. Because of a knee injury, he wasn’t standing up but have you ever seen anyone rip as hard as he does on a soft-top sitting down? There were some other friends around to enjoy the swell, too. And best of all, it looked uncrowded.
