The idea that you’re only as good as your last image really pushes me forward.

Local tadpole Billy Harrison. It’s great watching the grommets getting better and better every day. This is the first good tube we’ve teamed up in the water and I get the feeling there’s much more to come with him. Photo: Ed Sloane

I’m a 28-year-old surf photographer from Victoria, Australia. I’ve been shooting for about five years now and can happily say I’m still feeling out what it is I really want to create and say with my work. I love high-performance action, but I’m equally drawn to the aesthetics of the ocean and documenting those that enjoy it. I get the most enjoyment out of printing my work and I focus heavily on reproducing the more artistic images I’ve captured. The biggest challenge with my work is standing out from the ever-increasing noise of a highly competitive industry. It’s one of the most enjoyable processes ever undertaken and the idea that you’re only as good as your last image really pushes me forward.
