Ever since I was young I have had a passion for storytelling. With camera in hand, I am constantly looking for inspiring moments to document.
This image was shot back when I only had a film camera. I remember snapping a few frames of this unidentified girl as she cruised under the pier with style and grace. Weeks later was when I realized how special that moment really was. Photo: Jean Paul Molyneux
On an evening with beautiful weather this beach brings hoards of dogs and their owners to the beach. As I was shooting some lineups I was being constantly bombarded by slobbering tongues while navigating the dog beach. When this kid walked in front of me with his furry friend I thought he had ruined the shot, but ended up making it all the better. Photo: Jean Paul Molyneux

Dawn patrol in Ventura – it is hard not to stare at the waves peeling through this day. Photo: Jean Paul Molyneux
Novelty waves are by far my favorite to ride. Every ride you can't help but smile as you drop in on a wave that is as obscure as it is fun. For some reason middle schoolers seem to share this same joy as for some reason every time this wave breaks the kids have got it on lockdown. Photo: Jean Paul Molyneux

Sometimes to score surf alone you have to be willing to put in a little extra work. Whether that is an extended drive or hike it almost always pays off. Photo: Jean Paul Molyneux
This was one of those evening sessions that you hoped the sun would never set. Photo: Jean Paul Molyneux
This evening there were too many waves for the amount of surfers in the water. I swam out there for hours and saw too many waves to count ride through unridden. Blurring together another one slips on by. Photo: Jean Paul Molyneux
When I dream at night often this is the exact scene that plays in my head. Photo: Jean Paul Molyneux
Whenever I surf with Brian Mircheff I always have regret that I am not shooting photos. This day though I made the right decision as he let loose on this morning session close to home. Photo: Jean Paul Molyneux
The ocean has a way of refocusing us and bringing clarity amidst our chaotic lives. My good friend Greg finds that moment during an evening session at his local spot. Photo: Jean Paul Molyneux
From the water you could see Ginger sitting among the rocks watching each of us take wave after wave. Eric Soderquist greets Ginger as the last of the days light fades away. Not many dogs are willing to sit patiently as their owner scores an evening surf. Photo: Jean Paul Molyneux
This is by far one of my favorite place to watch the sunrise. When the waves are good it just makes it all the better... Photo: Jean Paul Molyneux
If you live close enough to check the surf via bike consider yourself a blessed person. Biking to the beach has a way of bringing a smile to your face no matter what conditions await you. Photo: Jean Paul Molyneux

Ever since I was young I have had a passion for storytelling. Whether told verbally, through writing, or through art, I found myself constantly looking for ways to retell the moments I experienced each day. Photography began to be the best avenue to share new experiences. It is while I am experiencing a new place or just searching for new perspectives in places I have seen that my passion has evolved. With camera in hand, I am constantly looking for inspiring moments to document. Based in Central California, I have found a place that is always inspiring me and leaves me amazed by God’s beauty around us. As I move forward with photography I can’t wait to visit many other places in the world as I retell the adventures and stories that accompany them.
