Although we consider surfing the best “medicine,” the truth is, it can be pretty hard on your body. It might not be hard in the sense of it’s impact on the joints like running or weight lifting, but rather, over time it can cause extreme muscle tension and discomfort. The great thing about this type of impact is that it can be addressed: all you have to do is stretch. Taking the time after each surf session to unwind your muscles and stretch out your back can eliminate pain and tension. This quick video from Tim Senesi walks through a number of stretches that will help your body recover post-surf, and it will leave you feeling better than ever.
