Today is Andy Irons Day. After his tragic death, the Governor of Hawaii declared February 13 “Andy Irons Day.” Andy was a man that brought so much passion into surfing. The way he lived could be seen through his surfing: fast, loose, and powerful. So today, in honor of Andy Irons Day, we’ll leave you with a few things. Above are Jason Reposar‘s candid photos of him, taken over the course of their relationship.

We also did a Headspace with Andy’s brother, Bruce. In it, he talks candidly about his own personal demons surrounding Andy’s death.
A few months later, we sat down with Andy’s widow, Lyndie. She spoke of their son and how she’s still coming to grips with the loss of her husband.
