Salina Cruz is a bit of a dream wave. Not a bit, actually. It IS a dream wave. If you’re a fan of hollow, sand-bottom point breaks, well, you’ve likely dreamed of surfing it. If you’re lucky, you’ve done better than dream about it. It’s a relatively consistent place, depending on the time of year, but it’s rare that it gets quite as good as it did early in September. Because we live in the age of fairly decent surf forecasting, a whole pile of very talented surfers made their way to mainland Mexico to surf a swell that lived up to the hype.
