Seeing The Big Apple in a New Light

Icicle- This is a photo I intend to capture, there's no point in trying to argue that this is exactly what it was I wanted it to look like because the truth of the matter when you're shooting surf photos like this is that you're mostly unable to control anything in the photo. You can change your depth of field through aperture and what focal length you choose and to a certain extent change the angle of the image whether you're shooting up at the lip or at the point where you think the lip will crash down. This happened to be a well timed interesting photo that I felt had great texture and conveys that "yes, you are looking at a wave" while also being somewhat abstract. Photo: Matt Clark

This is a mixed bag of shots I’ve taken recently. Some are representative of a new style I’ve been trying out. There are also a couple from a series called “Midnight Dreary” that are intended to look as if they are taken in the middle of the night by moonlight, and other images that are like an Ocean Boudoir photo session where you’ll see portraits of breaking surf in a truly intimate fashion.
