This is Tyler from Maui. I'm not sure how old this kid is, but he was snagging the bombs and going deep. It was funny. After each wave, he would ride up to our ski and ask if he did it correctly to get the shot. You have got to love that as a photographer. Photo: @Nicola Lugo
Do you ever wonder what Maverick’s would look like if it were clear, warm, aqua-green-blue, and super glassy? Well, wonder no more because on May 3, 2015, this spot—which we wish not to disclose—looked exactly like Mavericks’ beautiful hermana to the south. Only with more hollow barrels. Now it may not be the death-defying Mexico that went down when Mark Healey caught arguably the biggest wave ever paddled into, but it’s still absolutely beautiful.
