Scoring “good” waves just north of the equator in Costa Rica takes time, patience, and about a gallon of sunblock.  A couple things that definitely help are the who, the where, and the how. In Central America, not all the roads are paved or smiles wide, but if you put your time in and pay attention, these are the benefits you reap.
