To the average surfer, having the opportunity to surf the Qiantang River tidal bore would be a dream come true. But to the Chinese people, particularly the Chinese government, it’s borderline insanity. After a bit of persuasion, and probably a handsome chunk of change, the Chinese government granted permission to hold a the Red Bull Qiantang River Surfing Shoot Out.
