The Philippines has become a major surfing destination among traveling surfers from all over the world thanks to it’s warm tropical waters, friendly locals, tasty food and perfect waves. There are a variety of waves to fit ever surfer’s needs, from world class reef breaks like Cloud 9 to the playful beach breaks of Baler, making this the perfect location for a group of talented female surfers from California and Hawaii. This crew consisted of Malibu’s Carla Zamora, Hawaii’s Rosie Jaffurs, Malibu’s Sophia Sarlo and Ventura’s Taylor Nelson and Taylor Bruynzeel. Under the guidance of Ian and Carla Zamora the girls spent two weeks traveling around searching for perfect waves. While some breaks were easily accessible others required a long hike through mangroves or crossing a river mouth. The girls truly embraced the aloha spirit giving back to the locals through the Waves 4 Water program and were blessed with some incredible waves to enjoy along their journey around the Philippines.
