Thanksgiving Swell Pounds East Coast

Ironically, this house is called "Wavebreaker." Amid the victory-at-sea conditions, a few sneaker, perfect barreling waves would appear. But, overall, it was a bit of a mess on the Outer Banks. And cold. Photo: Weisberg

Thanksgiving Eve was a tough swell for Northern New Jersey. We did a bunch of driving around and checking until we finally settled on a spot. Northern Monmouth County was a bit textured and imperfect, but there were some serious bombs. I saw Mike Gleason and Jon Smyth get the waves of the day. Definitely a couple nuts waves out there.

The Outer Banks also had some burly conditions, but from the photos we’ve seen, it looks like New Jersey was the call.
