The WSL Haleiwa Challenger Is On and the Stakes are High

The fourth and final Challenger Series event from Haleiwa is on today and the stakes are high as underdog surfers look to solidify their spots on the CT.

The Haleiwa Challenger, running for the first time this year as a part of the all-new, four-part Challenger Series, will help determine the 12 men and six women that will make it onto the 2022 Championship Tour. And it’s on today with a full schedule on the men’s side. Brisa Hennessey, Gabriela Bryan, and Zeke Lau have already clinched spots on points earned through the first three events, and as for the rest, there are plenty of stories to watch and surfers to root for – especially in the scrappy world of Championship Tour qualification where everyone’s an underdog. A few CT stalwarts are expected to compete as well so it should be a great day of surfing.
