When it comes to breeding grounds for up-and-coming surfers, there’s no place like Maui. The place has it all–the combination of giant waves and steady winds make for an ideal place to learn to surf in almost any condition.
Take 13-year-old Jackson Bunch, for example. Maui Media Cartel put together a clip of the kid ripping his way through Maui and Indo. As are many surfers from Maui, Bunch is oddly fearless, and watching him grown into his surfing is going to be a pleasure. It looks like he’s got his priorities straight, too. “I definitely want to be a pro surfer,” he says. “But for the most part, I just want to be stoked and get to travel and have fun.”
