Surfing exists in places we would never have thought of. This is a look at the thriving Swiss surf scene, nurtured by river waves and wave pools.

River surfing is old. And it’s been around in Switzerland for years. There’s plenty of rivers that create waves in this mountainous country. In this serial documentary, the filmmakers take a look at Swiss surfing history and its future, which seems quite bright given that the Alaia Bay wave pool was just completed. The documentary above claims there are some 45,000 surfers in the country, which seems like a lot, and that surfboard sales are thriving. Surfing is, of course, where you find it.
