Evolve: Sean Davey’s Transformational Moments

We put it out to The Inertia’s influencers and most talented contributors to share moments that caused significant personal growth and transformation – ideally with some relation to surfing, but also to life in general. This are a few of Sean Davey’s moments.

For me, true grace in a surfer's style, especially on big waves, is just so good to photograph. Gerry Lopez has always been regarded as the true Pipeline style master. Over the past ten years, Randal Paulson has consistently impressed me with his stylish and calm approach to riding big Pipe. It's guys like this that most inspire me to photograph. Not sponsors or fame, but just straight up style. Mason Ho, like his dad Mike and Uncle Derek, is ushering in the new style masters, taking a leaf straight out of his dad and uncle's books. Style is king: don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Photo: Sean Davey

We’ve chosen to focus our relaunch around the theme: EVOLVE. Transformation is core to who we are, and we put it out to The Inertia’s influencers and most talented contributors to share moments that caused significant personal growth and transformation – ideally with some relation to surfing, but also to life in general. These are a few of Sean Davey’s moments.
