What did you get from your significant other for Valentine’s Day? Flowers? A box of chocolates? Maybe they made you dinner or got you some edible undies? All wonderful gifts that show someone loves you, certainly, but Pipe surfers were gifted with something that only Mother Nature can give: a bombing V-Day swell at the North Shore’s most famous wave.
Late on Saturday morning, a large northwest swell began to fill in. By 3 p.m., it was cleaning itself up, and by Sunday, it was just about as good as Pipeline gets. All the usual suspects were there, including John John Florence, Landon McNamara, Eli Olsen, Taichi Wakita, and more.
