One would imagine that as a World Champion on the CT, surfing waves of the kind of magnitude on offer at Nazaré might not be high on the must-do list. Italo Ferreira, after all, has to win contests to keep those sponsors happy. He has to stay in fighting shape, as it were. But that didn’t stop him from getting yanked into a handful of mid-size (still huge) waves at Portugal’s most-famous spot. Along the way, he also found himself looking out of a whole lot of beach break tubes, which ain’t a bad place to be, world champ or not.
