You know those times when everyone’s just kind of bobbing around in the lineup, staring out at the horizon? Suddenly, one person starts frantically paddling away from the beach. Without seeing it yourself, you too start frantically paddling. Soon, the whole lineup has caught on and everyone is scratching as hard as they can for the outside, based solely on whatever it was that first surfer saw. Sometimes, it’s nothing. But sometimes, it’s a second reef Pipeline bomb that mows down the entire lineup.
