Silverbacks is a terrifying wave. It is Panama’s most-terrifying, no questions asked. It’s a wave that routinely puts the world’s best surfers in their place — which, as par for the course at Silverbacks, is flat on their back and pinned to the bottom — but Luke Davis has been there more than a few times. There’s something about the place that keeps drawing him back. Over the course of those trips, Davis has almost figured the place out. As much as one can figure this particular place out, anyway: chip into one early and set up for a very, very big tube.
