Watching Wedge highlights is like watching NASCAR. You can’t escape the fact that you’re really tuning in for the thrill of a potentially disastrous bit of carnage.
Earlier this week, Newport, California’s favorite summer monster resembled a somewhat normal wave with, lord forbid, makeable sections. Naturally, there are plenty of spills and body slams to see here, but there is also a fair share of people getting spat out, some doggy door escapes, and the celebratory claims and smiles to go with them.
It’s not a morning at the Wedge we’re used to seeing.
