When Your Boat Breaks Down at Teahupo’o

Normally, you wouldn’t think the sound of your boat engine sputtering to its death when you were out in the middle of the ocean would make you so stoked. But, so was the case when my wife and I hired a boat to take us to see the famous Teahupo’o. Our captain seemed confused when we started smiling after he told us we would be here a lot longer than we planned.

With camera and fins in hand, five guys dropping into overhead surf, and a sunset on the horizon, I couldn’t think of a better place to be broken down.
