The circus is in full swing along Oahu’s Seven Mile Miracle. And while eyes have been collectively glued to the action at Haleiwa, Sunset, and soon Pipeline, Greg Long, Grant “Twiggy” Baker, Jojo Roper, and crew decided they’d duck the madness for an opportunity to venture out to California’s (and maybe the world’s?) eeriest big wave spot. About 100 miles off the coast of California sits the underwater peak known as Cortes Bank. With the recent run of swell in the Pacific, Greg Long and crew had an inkling Cortes would be working, and rallied the troops to make the trek. Turns out they were right.
