Don’t believe everything you see online. Photos can always make the surf look better than it is. Someone goes up for what looks like a radical top turn, and caught by a photo at the apex, it looks like it is. But then the surfer doesn’t complete the turn and a huge wipeout ensues. But the photo made the turn look amazing.
Similarly, someone might pull into a barrel and the photo captures them look ultra deep, and makes it look as though they might make a miraculous exit, only for the wave to close down violently on the surfer. That’s what I examine in the video above. How photos can deceive us. Yes, you can’t believe everything you see on the internet.
