Video: GoPro on a Stick in New Zealand

The thought of filming in knee-high, snow melted water wasn’t overly inviting during a surf trip in New Zealand. But it ended up being just fine. Here’s some video proof.

After six days shooting in New Zealand, the swell dropped out with the tide at this one super fun reef; we had been surfing overhead waves consistently, and the thought of now filming in knee-high, freezing snow melt water wasn’t overly inviting.

I had a small GoPro camera and wanted to get something different for the film – cutaways or b-roll. I found a 12″ garden stake and length of rope to strap the camera onto and spent the next few hours trying to hand the filming duties over.

Got a few fun ones.
