I shot this image is Bethune Wall, named after Mary McCloud Bethune. She played a vital role for young black women to receive equal rights with education. This is my home break as well and where I surfed many years with Gorkin and even more-so, his father Dale. He's my surfing mentor. Photo: Patrick Eichstaedt
I cut my teeth in the surf game years ago by sitting on the beach for hours video taping a young Andy Irons and Cory Lopez charge Log Cabins. You may have also seen me on the wrong side of the camera in “The Decline” and “5’5″ Redux.”
I was born in Miami, Florida, in 1974 and moved to New Smyrna Beach in 1976. I began working with …Lost and through opportunities there, I have imagery published all over the globe. Family, health and friends are most important to me, and my school was traveling and listening to others–The School of Trial and Error.
