Pipeline is a crowded place. Not surprising, really, since it’s one of the best waves on the planet. Everyone wants a piece of it when it’s on, and since the North Shore attracts people who like to surf, there are a lot of surfers. Jamie O’Brien is one of those surfers who has attained the moniker of “Pipe specialist.”
He grew up there with Pipeline as his focus and the rest of the Seven Mile Miracle just on the periphery. And as such, he knows Pipeline in her many and varied moods. One of her moods these days, is crowded. And in the video above, he calls it “the most crowded” he has ever seen it. It takes a certain skill level paired with a certain amount of respect given to navigate those crowds, and Jamie’s got both. But for the Average Joe? It looks… hard.
