John John Florence Demolished Rocky Point on October 6th

The North Shore of Oahu is a place chock-full of unreal surfers. Those who aren’t pro surf like it. Those who are pro do too. The waves the locals there grew up feasting on are among the best on the planet — seven miles of coast that’s basically a miracle, right? And of those waves, a few stand out. Pipe, of course. Waimea, too. Sunset, etc. But when it comes to user-friendliness and insanely good, Rocky Point is the end-all, be-all. It’s not going to hammer you into the reef like you’re a nail like Pipe will. It’s not going to crush your insides out of your ears like Sunset. It’ll take you for a roll, that’s for sure, but when compared to a lot of the other waves on the North Shore, Rocky Point is a little easier to handle. And no one knows it quite like John John Florence, who was there (among many others) when Rocky Point woke up from its summer slumber and began to stretch its legs in preparation for the upcoming winter.
